Thomas wakes up in a box inside a world with tall heavy walls and an endless maze. He is dubbed the Greenie for being the newest arrival of an all boy world and as expected has many questions because he has no memory of a life before waking up in the box. All he can remember is his name.
This a remarkable dystopian type story of how a group of boys try to work together and "escape" the Maze but have not succeeded for two years. There are creatures that come out mostly at night and they have needle like pinchers and razors attached to them for arms and such and if you get caught in the maze behind the door at night nobody has ever lived thru it. A girl is found in the box one day and it seems to spin the whole group and world out of control as things heat up because she comes bearing a message that a change is a coming.
There was only one part towards the beginning that aggravated me to no end but once I got past that I couldn't put this book down until the end. The pace builds up mid ways and doesn't let you go!

Review: I usually don't like time travel stories but this one was kinda light and not to much for me to keep up with or understand. It revolves around Katie and her boyfriend Issac who she has loved since they were kids. There has been an kiss between her and their mutual friend Mitch and Katie feels so guilty about it that she wishes she could go back and erase it from happening so they can all just go back to being friends and no hurt feelings between any of them. Katie gets her wish when she happens upon a locket of her visiting grandmother's and tries it on and is taken back to before the kiss but sometimes things are better left alone and is changing the past really for the best?
I have said a million times, in my own life, if only this woulda happened or if only I could go back but after reading The Locket I think I will leave destiny to fall as it may. Things really do happen for a reason and too much can be horribly messed up if we are to be allowed to go back and "fix" things. It's a book that made me really think about my life and realize that some of the best things in my life are some of the things I never even dreamed up and am so thankful for.

Review: I didn't really know what to expect of this one going in. I just was up for something a bit different from my norm. I liked Raye for the most part until I thought she was blowing off her true BFF just to gain a spot at popularity but I sort of could see where her mind was at even though I felt she should have invited her friend Nat along for the ride or at least let her make her own mind up over whether she wanted to or not.
Ella I couldn't stand from the start! I have known a good many Ella's in my day and they are not to be trusted and are not good friend material. They think only for themself and don't care who they hurt or walk all over to get what they want. Raye was a bit nutso for ever doubting her first judgement of Ella but we all have to live and learn correct?
Julian surprised me big time. One minute he is the victum, then he is a friend, and then he is just a flat out jerk in my book. He's a douche bag a dweeb, a big fat b-hole. He tries to be all sweet and innocent and he's the type that wants to be your friend as long as nobody else knows it. Heck with that! If you can't be my friend all the time instead of when it's convenient for you piss on you don't be my friend at all!
This was a great book about fitting in and cliques. We've all been there at one time or another.

Review: Very realistic story! Amazing actually as it could have been describing any number of people I know or knew at some point in my life. Selena has a few secrets about her past and the one person she should have been able to trust, (her mom), fails her by not believing in her which caused a drastic measure to take place in Selena that takes years to unwind and she wont trust or let anybody get that close to her to confide in again for fear of being treated same as her mother treated her only she soon learns that life has been tough on some of her new found friends as well and they are harboring secrets and hurts of their own.
I read this book literally start to finish in a matter of hours because it drew me in and I could really feel the pain and angst coming off the characters instead of being told so much how they were feeling. To a certain point even if the circumstances were different I think we all at some point in our life has suffered some of the pains and feelings that could drive one to act out as Selena had.
I was okay with the way it ended but I would enjoy seeing these characters make appearances in future books.

Review: Okay I don't even know where to begin! First off let me say is that not a BEAUTIFUL cover! I love it! Emery has done an excellant job here with Anomaly! I went into this story under the misconception that here lies another vampire story, and well... in essence it was but JC takes it a bit farther and kind of mixes up alot of what we have preconceived as vampires up to this point and this is what made it stand out for me! Which brings me to one of my favorite quotes from the story.
"“I didn’t invite you in!” “Don’t believe everything you hear, Nancy Drew,” he said."
This one quote just rocked me to the core because it is one major piece of vampire lore that I have held onto all these years is that a vampire can't come in uninvited. I loved it! I laughed til I cried especially when Luke calls Eliza Nancy Drew because she thinks she knows everything about vampires.
I look very forward to the next part of the story!

“I take it you’re not a runner,” he said. “Despite all evidence to the contrary.” He eyed my wardrobe. It was obvious how disproportionately balanced our strengths were. I had wished that I could have at least claimed intellectual superiority—knowledge of literature or physics— something that gave me an edge. But I had nothing. I wasn’t sure I could even school Luke in the art of the curtsey considering he was so damn old.
I hated to be the sick girl—always the sick girl—looked on with pity. I was always poor Eliza who had to have another surgery; poor Eliza who had to spend a month in bed; poor Eliza who needed another transplant. For years and years I had just wanted one relationship in my life where I could be on equal footing with someone and not be sick. Of course Luke and I hadn’t been on equal footing—he vampire and me human, but here I was about to really tip the scales in his favor.
“Um, no,” I said. Luke was stealing glances in my direction. “I’ve never been a fan,” I said and left it at that. I just wasn’t ready to talk to him about my illness yet. Once people knew, the way they saw and treated me always changed. I couldn’t even have a single beer without receiving disapproving looks.
“I wasn’t a runner in my former life, either,” he said. “But then, before I became vampire, in that time, exercise wasn’t a part of a person’s life the way it is now. Exercise used to just be something that people did. It wasn’t something they set aside time for. A woman your shape would have been much desired in my time.”
I turned and glared at him. He must have been joking. A thousand years old and yet he hadn’t figured out that commenting on a woman’s size—whether positive or negative—was never a good thing?
Damned fool.
“What I had intended to say,” he said with great care in his voice, “Was that a healthy sized woman was the great ideal for every man. A thin woman was often sickly and unable to bear her husband’s children.” I waved him off and kept walking.
“You’re digging yourself a deeper hole. Just give it up,” I said with more bite in my tone than I had intended.
“What is the appropriate response for a man to give to a woman whose size he has just insulted?” he asked. The look on his face was completely serious. I took several deep breaths and tried to relax myself a little bit. I probably should have told him I was sick because holy crap this was just getting worse and worse. Low self-esteem for one hundred, Alex.
“There is nothing any man can say to make it better once he’s opened his mouth to begin with,” I said with a shake of my head. Having Kate as my older sister had only made me more critical of my body image. Kate had always been thin and fairly athletic. She was energetic and the worst thing she had endured medically was when she had donated a kidney and bone marrow to me when I was a teenager. Even then, after weeks of lying around the house in recovery, she didn’t gain an ounce. I, however, had to go up a pants size. It was hardly fair that not only had I been sick, but I had been blessed with more than my fair share of curves as well.
“That seems a bit unfair,” he said and stuck his hands in his pockets. His shoulders dropped and he seemed to withdraw into himself.
“Welcome to the twenty-first century,” I said and decided to keep my mouth closed for the rest of the trip.

Review:
Really good mystery/romance. Kenna is running from being present at the scene of a big crime and hopes to start over in this small town until she can figure out what to do before the bad guys catch up to her. Romance was not on the agenda but how can she hardly resist Will's southern charm but he comes with baggage in the form of a rotten and conniving money hungry ex-wife who wont back down. Loved it and the characters were so fun especially the 3 sisters who practically run the town!
Jenna Jax-Anders hit rock bottom in high school. Or so she thought. From rock star heiress to knocked-up has been, she turned it all around, marrying the punk rock baby daddy love of her life. The perfect Hollywood fairytale. Until the day she walked in on him kissing her best friend.
First off let me say I love the cover! I know this will sound awful of me but I am a sucker for a pretty cover and sadly I do judge books by the covers sometimes.
I liked Jenna and hated what she was going thru but a part of me feels she acted a bit high schoolish about how she handled it and even a little neglectful on the part of abandoning her daughter to run off to parts unknown and sulk over her problems when she should have put on her big girl panties and faced them head on to begin with. Best friend or not had I seen her kissing my hubby especially in my own home I would of decked her or at the very least stood my ground and started asking questions not run off not truly understanding what was going on but I understand folks do handle things in different ways....
The biggest thing I feel I am taking away from Rock My World is it's never to late to start over, to find yourself, or even to re-create yourself.

Without going into alot of detail an all out war breaks out when the Eildon Tree on the Crossroads is set on fire because it sort of kept peace amongst all the different creatures with it's hidden magic. Now sworn enemies must join forces to find the one person who they think may can save the tree and the future of the Crossroads but will they be in time? I'll never tell! LOL
The love triangle between Abby, Ion, and Talivar is a bit disturbing but I guess it's necassary to the story. I just dislike Abby having sex with both men and acting like it's supposed to be okay with everybody. Maybe she does really love both men even if in different ways and they obviously both love her even if they do have their own separate agendas but I still think she needs to choose one or the other and not keep stringing them both along. Heck I say dump um both! Who needs them when she has Phin for crying out loud? LOL

Have you ever been haunted by the feeling that someone is spying on you, lurking around your house and yard, even entering your bedroom? Are your friends plotting against you when they say they've seen you do things you know you haven't done? What's going on -- and does Laurie really want to find out?
In one word - Freaky! I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this story! It was really scary in a neat way. I totally freaked when she was sitting in front of the mirror and her image smiled at her and she realized that she herself was NOT smiling! Ohhhh I love it when things like that happens in movies and it sent a chill over me while reading it here as well!
I despised Laurie's so called friends and boyfriend. I'm like all they had to do if they cared at all was ask her family if she had been home sick but instead they would rather doubt her. That's just not a friend to me which it more or less says she was only a member of their crowd on accounts of her popular boyfriend anyhow but still...
I was not overly excited about "part" of the ending but if I explain I will be spoiling it for anybody whose not read it so I will leave it at that.

Gigi, Bea, and Neerja are best friends and total overachievers. Even if they aren't the most popular girls in school, they aren't too worried.
OKay so the three main characters would probably beat me to death for calling this a cute story but it was! It really was Gigi, Bea, and Neerja! The girls have been besties since Kindergarten and are convinced that with good grades they will eventually get everthing in life they want but as life goes they soon found out how wrong they were.
They were actually not a blip on anybodies radar because they studied so much and did so little extra on the side like going to parties and assemblies or even bothering to eat lunch in the cafeteria that their other classmates barely knew them or knew they existed and this is when the girls realized their plans were not going as well as they had hoped.
I really loved the interactions between Mike and Gigi. They were my two favorite characters. They were just sooo sweet? I just totally fell in love with Mike even though he supposedly got Gigi in trouble for copying from her paper. (or did he?)
I think most any teen girl would enjoy reading about Gigi, Neerja, and Bea because highschool is tough and this story is a light fun read and who knows maybe in some odd about way their tales of love and education can benefit a struggling teenager. While it didn't benefit me or take away from my life one way or another it took me back in time and had me reminicing about some of my old highschool friends and wondering what if......

It's so bad that she has let them totally take over her life and her house by the boxfuls and is ashamed when anybody comes to visit. I can identify a bit of myself over the hoarding because I have to have "ALL" the books! I'm just saying.....LOL
On top of all this she is still very much infatuated with her old flame Thorn but because he leads the pack and she is a shunned member he can barely offer her his friendship much less the love and protection she needs when other clans begin to invade the turf who want her dead.
I am very interested to see what happens in the next book because Nat is in training to try to reclaim a spot in the clan. I can't wait to see if she will rekindle an old flame or start one up with Nick (a wizard) whom I also took a liking to! I am sooo pro Nick at this point because I just felt Thorn could have stood up more for Nat if he had such strong feelings for her?
At any rate this was an awesome debut and totally is going on my keeper shelf!

Amelia can see and feel ghosts but has been warned by her father, who can also see and feel them, since childhood to never acknowledge them or else be haunted forever and up until now she has always followed the rules he gave her but while restoring an old cemetery she finds herself wrapped up in a murder mystery and has to help a haunted detective find a killer as the body count rises.
I could not put it down! It was a fresh spin on what I have always been told about dealing with ghosts which is to face them and demand to know what they want. I was guessing until the end on who the culprit was. I had an idea but every time I thought I had things figured out something new would arise or a new angle would be presented and the ending left me wanting to find out more of her father and what he is hiding so yes, I will totally be reading the next book in this series!

Fantastic dystopian story that had me from the first chapter. I can't imagine living in a world such as Tally's where you get a pretty operation at 16 and and you get to go live with the pretties. I mean I would really hate living in that kind of world because what one perceives as pretty is not always anothers opinion and Tally soon comes to the conclusion that the dream she has had for so long of becoming a pretty may just be a nightmare instead. I rooted for her 100% when she rebels and takes off to find her friend Shay and to discover what is beyond.... Well actually she wasn't given much choice in the matter at first as she was given the choice of giving up her friends location or never being able to become pretty which at the time was what Tally thought she wanted...it was only later she came to see that things were not all as they appeared.

15 Shades Of Pink includes all the stories from: Flirts!, Beach Flirts!, and Fairy Tale Flirts! (That’s five stories in each volume. Each short is 8,000-13,000 words long.) But fair warning: the only cheeks that turn pink in these stories are the ones above the shoulders.
This is not my usual reading genre but occasionally I like to take a step on the wild side and read outside my comfort zone. I was pleasantly surprised to have thoroughly enjoyed reading this set of 15 short fluffy tales of romance flirts!
I am not even a fan of short stories but Lisa's writing just flows off the pages and weaves a nice and funny story for each that I felt fulfilled with all of them and found it hard to choose any one as a favorite. I think maybe it was because I could find a tiny bit of myself in most of them and found them easy to relate to but if I absolutely had to choose just one I think it would be "The Hot Girl's Friend" because that was almost a play by play of a page out of my history book!

I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I actually only have a copy because it was a freebie for a short while on Amazon and was recommended by a fellow book blogger who raves about Rhiannon Frater books!
Well Rhiannon Frater has a new fan! I was immediately drawn in with her descriptiveness coupled with the alarming situation Amal finds herself in! Yea, it was another vampire story but it just had a different feel to it for me. I could almost imagine myself drifting alongside Amal, like I was there with her in her grave and adventures afterward. I also relished the fact that it just wasn't another one of those Mr nice guy vampire swooners. (which I am not knocking but I enjoyed having a break from) Here we get to actually experience some realization that vamps are not all cuddly and sweet!

I am very excited to continue on with this series! The little girl that haunts Dash/Angel has me intrigued and I only wish I could have learned more about her as well as Rafael. I can't wait to find out what happened to Dash's parents and how she comes to have special powers.
I really enjoyed the technique that was used by writing the story in blog/journal type entries. It made the skipping around in the story more easier for me to follow along with and seemed to keep me wondering what was going to happen next.
I sort of figured out ahead one part that happened but I wont mention it because it's a spoiler but I am interested to see how that plays out because it's a really bad place for a couple of the characters to be in and how they will handle it.

Angel: It was weird at first, so many people talking about well… I don’t know my life. I mean…
I was just trying to keep myself and my brother alive, (you know…Vamps can be hazardous…);
trying to be a normal kid, when all of a sudden, I have an audience! But its okay, everyone has
been pretty cool, so I’m getting used to it.
Me: I can only imagine…wow...okay, next question…Have you always known that you were
this phenomenal, wicked, Vamp Hunter, and that with your special essence, it’s believed, you
are destined to change the human and supernatural world forever!..(Um, take your time with that
one:)
Angel: Okay, wow…you just put that one right out there huh? Um, no… I didn’t know that I was
to be the key in some type of apocalyptic, battle with mankind…thought I was just a normal kid
that had luck that sucks…But the perks are awesome!…now that I am trained, I’m getting faster
and stronger and learning more moves…I can even take on Ismet..
Me: For our readers, now who is Ismet again? And also how do you get along with the other
girls?
Angel: Ismet is one kick butt Jinn (Genie), she’s not from some bottle that crosses her arms
and blinks on command; She is from an old race of beings that evolved from Fire…they are the
protectors of the Divide…
Me: The Divide?
Angel: Yep, I just learned about all of this too…the Divide is the barrier between the
supernatural world (unseen to us) and ours. Ismet was one of the greatest warriors amongst her
people...
Me: How did she end up at Ame’ Academy? There must have been a great threat to warrant such
a fighter to be here???
Angel: It was. Me.
Me: Oh…okay…well, how about my second question, do you get along with the other girls? I
believe you all have made somewhat of a team, correct?
Angel: We’re a team now, but at first…I wasn’t sure… I’ve always liked Elin (she’s half
Vampire/half Human) the sweetest kid you’ll ever meet, unless you threatened someone she
loves…then wow, she’s scary…and I already told you about Ismet, I have much respect for her
mad skills:)
Me: And?
Angel: (Sigh)…and yep, there’s Belladonna, a stuck up Natural- Born Vamp that I am surprised
I haven’t staked yet!
Me: Is it the fact you’re a Hunter and she’s a Vampire? Even though, the Natural-Born Vamps
pose no threat to Humans?
Angel: No, it’s from the fact she’s a snob, and always trying to give me a makeover!
Me: Lol….well, I’m sure ALL of you make a great team, you are really cleaning up Kincaid
Texas:)…but aren’t you’re leaving out someone….Rafael? What IS your relationship with him?
Angel:O-o-o-kay…didn’t think you would bring HIM up! Well, he’s just RAF…he’s my
friend...He sort of just showed up at Ame, and well that’s when things got really weird! Then
things got really bad…dark, and when I didn’t think I had anyone, well Raf was there…
Me: Alright:) What is Rafael? His mad skills?:)
Angel: Um, I rather not say…he just is…:)
Me: Fair enough, thanks for the interview!
Angel: See, not so bad right? Even though, you threw in some tough questions!
Me: Lol, well, you’re a good sport! I guess will wrap this up…see you around Ame’ Academy:)

Even for a techno-shaman, a kachina in the bedroom isn't exactly part of the drill. When Olivia Lawson wakes to find one towering over her, she panics. A Hopi god visiting the real world isn't just wrong; it's impossible. Or is it?
Shaman, Healer, Heretic was a new interesting concept to urban fantasy or for me at least because it was my first story about shamans and such. It actually opens with a visit from a kachina which I was like what the heck is that? I thought it was some kind of insect. (silly me) It was new to me but spooked me the more I read of it. I started this book at night and when I read about Livvy waking to having one in her room I put the book down until the next day. LOL
Livvy is of course a shaman and she helps people spiritually via a pair of "specialty" goggles by traveling to the spirit underworld but things are amiss and people are dying and getting sick and shamans are being blamed. Livvy must go against the rules and team up with other shamans to try to figure out what is going on and quick but obviously we know things are not gonna be that easy and that is all I am gonna say except I want a pair of those goggles and I enjoyed the story and really hope to see more authors exploring and venturing out into areas of ancient myths and legends like this. It was just a fresh experience and nice change of pace away from my vamps and otherwordly creatures of the night!

Holy Macanoli! I think this has got to be one of the fastest books I have read in a very long time! It started out kind of draggy with Perry wanting to do one thing and as usual his parents wanting him to do what they wanted but once prom night got there oh boy oh boy was Perry and I both in for the surprise of our life! Gobi turns out to be so much more than the usual exchange student..in fact she was not an exchanghe student at all but instead a hired assasin hired to right a huge wrong from the past and she plans on taking Perry with her for the ride no matter how unwilling a soul he is!
Perry is petrified as anybody would be when you find yourself immersed into the danger he found but he was in a hard spot because although he was afraid he still felt something undescribable for Gobi especially as things begin to unravel and he learns more of the actual situation. Gobi opens his eyes to alot of things even things happening in his own life and he has some decisions to make because of it.
A whirwind of a ride! Hang onto your seats because once the car leaves the station slowing down is not an option! You will not be able to put this book down because each breath you take into it more action has spilled onto the pages!

A very addictive book. Didn't want to put it down! The story opens celebrating Seraphina's 16th birthday where the weird things first began happening and continued until her father was convinced he was not giving her the proper care or attention a teen girl needs so he shipped her off to live with her deceased mother's sister where the action really takes off even more!
Sera seems to be a lonely misunderstood teen which really in itself is quite typical of being a teen but once the mysterious things begin happening to her, she finds herself running from people/things she doesn't know of or even know if they are real, her aunt is acting a bit secretive towards her, and this boy keeps following her around like a stalker!
I really loved this book and I am not one who usually cares for time travel but I find it fairly easy for me to keep up here and actually looked forward to the leaps Sera began taking. There really wasn't much romance or anythng like that involved unless you count the sickening mushiness of her dad and his girlfriend at her birthday dinner. (Yucko) It tends to lean more towards Sera unveiling what's happening to her and why however towards the end there are some instances but dont want to get to involved because I dont wanna spoil anything...just know this is a wonderful story full of time travels, mystery, betrayal, and surprises! I am looking forward to book two which.....
