"She had a built-in reputation, care of her mama. Didn't matter if she was free with herself or not; she was Becky Dalton's white-trash daughter, and that was enough for the town."

Synopsis: Reporter Dayna Dalton's reputation has been ruined since birth. The daughter of wild child, Becky Dalton, is expected to follow her mother's footsteps; never given a chance to prove she's different. Dana's been in love with Clay Finnes since she was a teenager. Her unrequited love for Sheriff Finnes leaves her empty. He's happily married and unavailable. Instead, Dayna finds herself stuck in the revolving door of bad relationships. But this is Bulwark, Georgia, a town where strange things are always happening. Dayna is doomed to this loveless life until she can find someone who will appreciate the depth of her character. Can she overcome her fears and look beyond her own perceptions to accept a greater love?

My Thoughts:  A short quick read but I had a fun time getting to know poor Dayna Dalton. I just immediately felt so bad for her....pining over a man who will never love her in the way she needs a man to love her and then on top of that the whole town snubbing their nose at her because of her mother's bad reputation. She never really stood a chance poor thing.

I wasn't very happy with the ending and turn the story took but still all in all an interesting read.

I read this as a stand a lone not knowing any of the characters before hand and didn't feel as though I had missed out or wasn't lost so you don't really have to read them in order.
