Book Description:

Master Drew Remington’s pain and grief runs deep. One woman will heal his soul and mend his wounded heart by submitting to his desires, but first their love will be tested when an old enemy emerges looking for the final ultimate score.

Excerpt:

“He’s got her,” Drew said.

“No shit.” Crue’s voice filled his ears. “Gabe and I have clear shots in the guest room. We can take out all but one of his men. Looks like Esparza’s son is standing at his twelve o’clock.”

“Don’t take those shots,” Drew whispered, easing closer to Esparza and Suzy. He couldn’t risk a complication. Suzy’s life was on the line.

“Damn it, Drew. If we don’t take them out, you won’t stand a chance when they scatter,” Gabe snapped.

“Then I won’t stand a chance.” He tucked his weapon at his waist and walked down the hallway with his hands in the air. This was like déjà vu, only worse. Suzy was on the floor. Esparza’s gun was aimed at her head. Damn if he didn’t know how that felt. He’d been there. He’d done that.

Damn man must’ve liked reliving moments in life. As Drew locked gazes with Esparza, he reminded himself of where he’d been, what heartache he’d suffered, all at the hands of a monster.

This despicable devil had been at the root of all his problems. He’d taken away the heart and soul of his family. He’d killed his father and slaughtered his brother. Now, he had his woman!

He’d be damned if he’d let him take one more person he cared about. And he wasn’t about to lose his life to Esparza so another one of his brothers would face off with him in the future.

It was time to end this. The moment had come. It was time to send a devil back to hell.

“What have we here?” Esparza cocked the gun.

“You’ll never get away with this,” Drew told him, glancing at Suzy. “We have the place surrounded.”

“Really?” Esparza threw his head back and laughed. “My property is twenty-five acres and your team—your team of six or seven men—have my place surrounded?”

“Your surveillance must’ve failed you somewhere, Esparza. We’ve pulled divisions from across the country.” Drew crept forward as he spoke. “I don’t foresee any way out of this for you.”

Esparza sneered. “I don’t see any positive outcome for your girl. Do you?”

Drew flinched. “I still can’t figure out why you have her. She’s been in town for two days and you think there’s some sort of lasting connection between us?”

Suzy shot him a quick glance. He wanted to run to her as soon as he implied she wasn’t important to him. He needed to wrap his arms around her and reassure her.

Again, Esparza tossed his head back. “You’re living in Vegas now. Haven’t you learned the laws of the land, yet? You can bluff a skilled player, a player who cares about the end result more than the temporary win. But you cannot—or at least you shouldn’t—bluff a true gambler. These individuals will go all-in without considering the risks.”

“Let her go,” Drew said, still holding his hands high. Manny was behind him now. Drew had worked with him long enough to feel him like a second skin. Scott was positioned at the other end of the hall. There was a little red dot on the side of Esparza’s head.

“Do you remember the time we spent together in Virginia, Drew?” Esparza grinned. “Of course you do. I’m the reason behind that drive you have now. When you rise every morning, I’m the only excuse you have to get out of bed. I’m your inspiration when you pound the pavement for four or five miles every day, and I’m—me, Drew, and no one else—the very reason you’ll never know a peaceful rest when you lay down at night and go to sleep.”

“You’re fucking insane.”

“And I speak the truth,” Esparza said. “We share a history that can never been separated. Don’t you feel it, Drew? I do. We’re linked together by what I now consider a very beautiful past, one wrought with murder and deceit, fraud and manipulation. Death surrounds us. Your father took away my family. I’ve slowly killed off yours. We meet, separate, and reunite again. We are so much a part of one another’s lives now that we’re almost family.”

Esparza yanked Suzy’s head back. “When families play together, darling, they stay together. You understand that. Don’t you?”

Review - Jade and the Tooth Fairy by Jacinta Zechariah

A magical tale about a little girl called Jade who stays up to meet the Tooth Fairy and goes to fairyland with her. She is also in for a pleasant surprise when she finds out what happens to all the teeth the Tooth Fairy takes!

Amazon / Smashwords

Review: This was a cute story about the tooth fairy and I think what I enjoyed even more than the adorable images was that it was a story that rhymed! My kids love books better when they have a little rhyme in them. I can't tell you what I found out about this but I have always wanted to know what in the world happens to all those teeth the tooth fairy collects! Well it is revealed inside Jade and the Tooth Fairy but you'll have to just read it for yourself!

It was only a dream. The next day, however, he is suddenly arrested and sent to prison for killing
Harry. Now inside prison, ALN-896 begins to learn about what the government of Epsilon has been
doing and he plans on escaping. Not only from prison, but from Epsilon. This one decision turns him
against everything he has ever known and forces him to face against centuries of lies. To escape
means to live, but what will it cost?

Excerpt:

Childhood...INF-120...Grandfather...Epsilon...and a strange red light?

Confused, ALN-896 snapped back to reality with a rosy tint flickering in the corner of his eye. He glanced over to see a stout building ablaze and three firemen standing outside of their truck glaring at the scene. His heart settled. Nothing was wrong. He sighed and looked away from the commotion. But just before deciding to pass it by, his ears caught a woman’s sorrowful scream erupt from inside the second story.

He panicked, allowing his emotions to overwhelm him. “Stop!”

The car came to a sudden halt and ALN-896 darted towards the inferno. The gathering crowd stared at him, each person looking identical with their pale plastic faces and blue marble eyes, like lifeless manikins. He contemplated not going inside and simply joining the crowd to watch. It was the smart thing to do. It would keep him out of trouble with the law. But something inside of him urged him to help. Urged him to go against his doubts and rely on pure emotion. He also couldn't shake the fact that this house seemed so familiar...

Another scream caused a rush of adrenaline to course through his veins. His gut feeling pushed him towards the front door where the intense heat seemed to weigh down the air he was struggling to breath. He stood there for a moment with his sleeve over his mouth. For a splitsecond he felt alone and encased within the darkness. The ash swirled beneath his eyelids. He coughed black charcoal as he tried to find gaps in the smoke to breath. It wasn't working. Between his dry eyelids, he turned and gazed through the thick black smoke behind him; nothing visible except for the gleaming red symbol on the firemen’s hats and the bright blue eyes of the motionless onlookers. He turned back around, staring dumbly at the front door. “96” is what a small plaque read on the door and ALN-896, for some reason, couldn't take his eyes off of it.

It was only a number.

Within split moments of bliss, he thought: I could just leave now and never think about this ever again. What I am thinking about doing is dangerous and against the law. Quickly his mind wondered why he couldn't just turn back around and join the crowd watching the building burn.

Another scream ripped through the flames and swirling smoke and ALN-896 suddenly remembered why he couldn't just leave and ignore what was happening. With a rush of excitement and doubt, he kicked the front doors open and a wave of ash shoved him backwards over the threshold of the home.

Inside, a veil of thick flames cloaked the walls and tore the furniture to dust. Every visible surface was blackened with charcoal and crumbled until it mixed with the ash floating through the air. A chandelier swung from the slight breeze coming through the shattered windows and dripped melted wax onto the floor, burning the few lasting patches of carpet. A bookshelf lay reduced to charred splinters as its books cringed under the unforgiving heat. A section of the ceiling had collapsed and lie in a pile of rubble in front of him, the second story hallway visible from above. It was mayhem and he was scared, but his gut feeling pushed him onward.

He leaped over the debris and toward the stairs. On his way up, the floorboards creaked under his weight, with nearly every other step a floorboard buckling, causing him to stagger to the next. Flames nipped at his heels every time he fell, fraying the ends of his pants and melting the soles of his shoes.

When he finally made it to the second story hallway, he stomped on the ground to make sure it was safe and then turned his ear to listen for the source of the woman's screams. His heartwas beating strong against his chest. Sweat poured down his face, soaking into his clothes. His breathing shallow and struggling. He took a long difficult, deep breath before darting towards where he believed the woman was. But he was soon forced to stop. About halfway through the hallway, a large hole had ripped through the ground. The entire width of the hallway had collapsed and there was no way around it; he would have to jump.

Another scream echoed and ALN-896 gathered his courage with a sigh. “I’m coming! Hold on!” he yelled with hesitation.

But behind his courageous words, his thoughts echoed, What am I doing? I am going to get arrested for this! Or worse, I could die! I could die for a person I do not even know! He wanted to back away, but the stench of burning flesh crept into his nose and the urgency of the situation became a burden hardly able to be lifted. He couldn't leave now. Instead, he took a few steps back and, with one loud groan, leaped over the hole, staggering a bit to regain balance.

He was now clear on the other side and he breathed a sigh of relief. After a short run, he now stood in front of the closed door where soft moans whispered from behind.

Inside, a woman lay slumped over a chair motionless. Flames swirled around her, eating at her white pink polka-dotted dress. ALN-896 pulled her over his shoulders and carried her down the hallway, feeling her short breathes against his neck. He ran through the dense smoke and flames and finally out of the house.

Review - Belong To You by Vi Keeland

Synopsis:

My honeymoon was almost everything I dreamed it would be, a tropical paradise, turquoise water, romantic walks on the beach, and loads and loads of mind shattering sex. The only thing missing was the groom. After seven years of coasting through a relationship with Michael, my senses were numb. A week of passion with a stranger was just what I needed to clear my head and take back control of my life. But how do you move on when the man that was only supposed to be a fling somehow seeps into your soul and steals your heart?

Review: Belong to You was a story of a woman scorned who was supposed to be having the honeymoon of a lifetime but instead was partying the nights away with her best friend on the already payed for trip to Hawaii. The last thing on her mind was meeting another man much less falling in love but sometimes fate intervenes and the unexpected happens. I loved the insta-lust between Jack and Syd and the game they played in the hopes of only learning just enough information about one another for a quickie fling. They were fun to read about and so was her friend Sienna who was the life of the party everywhere she went. The book ends on a good note leaving me in anticipation of what is to come in the next book!
