Two separate worlds . . .
One passion that binds them

Wild and passionate by nature, Lyra Black is not just any werewolf. She's the future leader of the powerful pack of the Thorn-if she can stay alive long enough to inherit the title.

One of the Cait Sith bloodline of vampire cat-shifters, Jaden Harrison has no interest in the wars plaguing the world of night. But when he rescues Lyra from a violent attack, they're both captured by an insatiable desire that threatens to overwhelm them and bind them together for eternity . . . just as ancient enemies prepare to strike. And when they do, the Thorn and the Cait Sith-and Lyra and Jaden's love-may never recover from the deadly blow . . .

OKay so I missed book one and missed the actual "meeting" between Lyra and Jaden our two star crossed lovers in Midnight Reckoning where apparently they didn't get off on a good foot and in fact really pissed each other off good fashioned! So as the story opens Jaden is out for a nightly stroll and comes across a heated argument between a man and woman. The man is making advances on the woman who turns out to be Lyra and she is not welcoming them so to make a long story short Jaden steps in and comes to her rescue. During the struggle Lyra loses a precious family heirloom and in her haste to get away she forgets it and Jaden makes his way to her home and this is where things get going!

I didn't like Lyra to begin with. I felt she was a spoiled rotten brat who was totally full of herself but I warm up to her as I learn more about her world and being an only child,,,a female child at that always having to prove herself to earn the respect she deserved because her father was Alpha of the Thorn. Jaden I immediately fell in love with I mean come on part vamp part puddy cat? purrrrrrrrrr lol I mean I loved that weird combination (weird because it was a first time for me) I just wonder about the cat part. I think I missed something like how that was sposed to come into play or the purpose of him being part cat.

I enjoyed learning about The Proving and and the ways of The Thorn and their laws although I found most of them harsh but when you think about it real packs of wolves react similar to things mentioned in the story I think so it went hand in hand I guess. Still there comes a point in time when my heart actually breaks for Lyra. I even had to get a tissue!

Incredible love story! I was completely immersed in it and look forward to reading the next book!

Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family's fortune decimated and forced her to wed London's most nefarious nobleman.
I have got to say I had low expectations when I began reading this book because I usually don't like historicals very much but this one grabbed me and would not turn me loose! It kind of has a feel of Beauty and the Beast but with extras like Miranda's power and it's even hard to say it's only purely historical because of the paranormal and mystery bits and such added in.

Firelight flowed off the pages leaving me devouring it and eager to find out what would happen next and the love story between Miranda and Archer was simply breathtaking for lack of a better word. Their's was an arranged marriage but once they actually began falling/feeling for each other the chemistry was just explosive and I could not wait until they realized what they had together.

Even if you have not really enjoyed historicals, like me, in the past you should totally give Firlight a try because it is much more!

Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis Blog Tour Review and Feature

USA Today bestseller Jill Shalvis is the award winning author of over four dozen romance novels, including her sexy contemporary novel Simply Irresistible, book one in the Lucky Harbor series. The 4-time Rita nominee and 3-time National Readers Choice winner makes her home near Lake Tahoe. Visit her website for more fun and updates on her wonderful books! Website

I was able to ask a few quick fun questions of Jill and here were her responses:

1) If you could literally dive into any Christmasy book/movie and become any character who would it be and why?

Christmas Carol. It was my favorite scary movie growing up, the old version, the black and white one … shiver. I’m not sure I’d want to be a character from it, but I still watch it every year.

2) What has been one of the strangest or most awesome Christmas gifts you have ever received as a child or adult?

Most awesome … the black lap dog sitting on my feet right this very minute, wanting to go outside and play ball. He was last Christmas’ present and he’s the gift that keeps on giving. If you count having to keep buying new boots because they get chewed…

3) Santa has you on his extra good list this year and gives you your choice of 10 minutes in any book/movie/music store of your choice. What kind of store would you choose and name a few of the first items you'd grab?

Any book store, and I’d be in heaven, thank you very much! I’d grab every mass market “trash fiction” on the display because that’s the way I roll. I like the brain candy.

Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn't ready to settle into a quiet life running their family's newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble--and trouble with love-draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who'd like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.
I have not read the first two books of the series but it did not keep me from enjoying this light fluffy read. Chloe was just a really high spirited and fun character to follow and Sawyer well he was a sexy sheriff who ran around behind her usually having to help untangle the messes she made in her life. The sexy parts were interesting and really awesomely handled to portray Chloe's asthma condition.

I really enjoyed it. It was a quick read fun book and you just cant help but begin to feel like the chacters in the story could be your real life neighbor or friends.

Ten years and two hundred miles. That's what separates Andi Powell from quiet, secluded Emerald Lake-and that's exactly how she likes it. But now her job brings her back to the hometown she's tried so hard to forget . . . and to Nate Duncan, the man she's never been able to.
In one word--Wonderful

Home Sweet Home is a story of going home only Andi Powell has ulterior motives. I really have to say I didn't like Andi at all. She came across as one of the coldest excuses of woman I have read. Her priorities are just all wrong for me from her younger years when she turned her back on Nate when he needed her so badly up until present day when she bounces back into her hometown head strong on trying to make huge changes to a place she left ten years ago and expecting folks including her own family to just step aside and not question her.

On the other hand I adored Nate who took on a huge responsibility when he was too young to really have to and he went on to become mayor of the beautiful town of Emerald Lake. He deserves a good woman in his life and I so totally felt he was to dang good for Andi.

Bella has created a wonderful town that makes you just wanna hop in your car and take off even if for just a weekend getaway and the hometown folks remind me of most small town people who know everybody and everything about each others business but who are usually always there when needed. I do eventually come around on Andi but not until towards end of story when she quit acting like a horses......well you know what I mean.

Bella Riley has always been a writer. Songs came first, and then non-fiction books, but as soon as she started her first romance novel, she knew she'd found her perfect career.

Since selling her first book in 2003 (under the name Bella Andre), she's written more than twenty "empowered stories enveloped in heady romance" (Publisher's Weekly). Her bestselling books have been Cosmopolitan Red Hot Reads twice and have been translated into German, Thai, Japanese and Ukrainian.

If not behind her computer, you can find her reading, hiking, knitting, or lunching with her favorite romance writing friends. Bella lives with her fabulous husband and children in both Northern California and a ninety-year-old lakefront log cabin in New York's Adirondacks.

She also just released a new series book in June 2011, The Look of Love (Chase & Chloe - The Sullivans Book 1) writing as Bella Andre

Dear Reader,

You won't believe what's happened. My son Tulane has come back home! You remember Tulane? He'd set out to find fame and fortune in the big, wide world outside of Last Chance, and I'm mighty proud. But that's not the half of it-Tulane isn't only back, he's brought a young lady with him.

Now Sarah-she does PR for Tulane's stock-car team-she's from Boston, but she's just about the sweetest girl you could meet. I think she's meant to keep Tulane out of trouble after that story in the papers, but he doesn't want to talk about it. Anyhow, the Ladies Auxiliary can't wait to start matchmaking and introduce Sarah to our Reverend Ellis. But mark my words, Sarah is tired of being a good girl. And no one is better at breaking the rules and raising Cain than my son . . .

Listen to me going on and keeping customeres waiting. I best get back to work, but you come round again. The Cut 'n' Curl's got hot rollers, free coffee, and the best gossip in town.

See you real soon,

Ruby Rhodes
In One Word--Fantastic

I gobbled this book up in just one or two sittings! It was so totally Southern and I just LOVED it! The characters were so easy to relate to and fall in love with as much as the Southern locations; not to mention I am only about 45 minutes away from one of the places mentioned, Florence, South Carolina!

Tulane-(I love that name) just kept me in tears laughing at him and his teasing nature to Sarah who was handling public relations for his stock car team all the while driving her up the wall. I felt kind of bad for her though because bless her heart no matter how hard she tried to not be a good girl she would fail miserably. She cant even curse without blushing!

Her boss is wanting her to get some dirt on Tulane so they can get a new person to represent their new project but Sarah is fast falling for Tulane's charm not to mention his hometown and family.

I want to read all the Last Chance Books now! I have found a wonderful new author and series!

Hope Ramsay was born in New York and grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, but every summer Momma would pack her off under the care of Aunt Annie to go visiting with relatives in the midlands of South Carolina. Hope earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Buffalo, and has had various jobs working as a Congressional aide, a lobbyist, a public relations consultant, and a meeting planner. She’s a two-time finalist in the Golden Heart, and is married to a good ol’ Georgia boy who resembles every single one of her heroes. She has two grown children and a couple of demanding lap cats. She lives in Fairfax, Virginia where you can often find her on the back deck, picking on her thirty-five-year-old Martin guitar.
