Review/Giveaway - Dead and Busy Books by Kfir Luzzatto

Accidental Lazarus
Dead & Busy Episode 1
by Kfir Luzzatto
Genre: Humorous Noir, Supernatural Mystery

It is sort of annoying having dead people dropping by at all hours...

A paranormal detective like Dave Callaghan has already seen everything, but he never expected to find a presumed dead mobster drinking scotch in his armchair. He is definitely unhappy when he (it?) engages him to find out who shot him. But the worse is yet to come; Dave’s girlfriend gets involved and the real trouble begins.

Episode 1 of the DEAD & BUSY series will keep you laughing to the (bitter) end.

"Dave Callaghan is not here to bring you profound, life-changing thoughts; only quick, unadulterated fun."

Amazon * Apple * B&N * Kobo * Smashwords

My Thoughts:  So entertaining! Here we have a dead mobster walking around with a hole the size of a bowling ball in his gut threatening to whack people. As funny as the story was I also kinda felt sorry for Joe (the dead mobster).

Phantom Lover
Dead & Busy Episode 2

A SEXY ECTOPLASMIC HOOKER
Why Do All These Deadies Keep Flocking Around Dave?

"It was bad enough, I can assure you, finding a half-naked ectoplasm sitting at my desk, but she had to talk nonsense too . . ."

Dave Callaghan is used to having ghosts drop by uninvited at all hours. But this time he is in for a new experience, and you must get ready for a good laugh!

Episode 2 of the DEAD & BUSY series - the one with the hooker.

Amazon * Apple * B&N * Kobo * Smashwords

My Thoughts: Another funny episode.  A wild mystery where things aren't what they seem and a clingy ghost by his side Dave is on the case again. I'm loving these shorts!

Mice
Dead & Busy Episode 3

TALKING MICE ON YOUR BED
A Mouse That Keeps Reciting Poetry to You, Is a Pest

When white mice plague a short-tempered mobster, he hires Dave Callaghan to find out where they are coming from. The mobster wants to know why the mice wake him up in the middle of the night to recite "Mary had a little lamb" to him.

Dave is used to dealing with ghosts of every description, but this time he is facing a complex conspiracy that involves the government and a lascivious ghost.

Episode 3 of the DEAD & BUSY series - the one with the Aussie ghost sailor.

Amazon * Apple * B&N * Kobo * Smashwords

My Thoughts: So far of the three this has been my least favorite. I'm not even sure why. I have a huge disliking to mice/rats and all but can't think that would have bearing on liking the story but anyhow just couldn't get into the talking mouse but did appreciate how it ended!

The Accountant
Dead & Busy Book 4

HOW TO ELOPE WITH A GHOST
In Which the Accountant Disappears With the Bank Codes

What can be more maddening for a businessman, than to have his trusted accountant disappear with all the bank access codes? Well, discovering that he has eloped with the ghost of a prostitute surely makes it worse.

The need to walk into a ghostly brothel doesn't put Dave off. He even befriends one of the girls there and fun is had by all.

Episode 4 of the DEAD & BUSY series - the one with the little ghostly whorehouse.

Review/Giveaway The Firefighter's Cinderella by Sonya Weiss

 Title: THE FIREFIGHTER’S CINDERELLA
 Author: Sonya Weiss
Pub. Date: November 18, 2019
Publisher: Entangled Publishing LLC (Bliss)
Formats: Paperback, eBook
Pages: 200
Find it: Goodreads, Amazon, Kindle, B&N, iBooks, Kobo

What’s a Cinderella to do when she’s accidentally kicked her Prince Charming in the face and broken his nose? Hold an audition, of course.

Harper Bailey is desperate to keep her family’s amusement park business up and running, but her employees keep quitting, and the man playing prince to her Cinderella in the company’s mainstage show is just the latest casualty. When sexy firefighter Rafferty Bradford, the most eligible bachelor in their small town, offers to step in, Harper agrees--reluctantly. After all, she and Rafferty are ex-best friends with a ton of past history. Surely they’ll have zero chemistry onstage.

Rafferty has his own reasons for agreeing to play Prince Charming, and none of them are good. If Harper finds out the truth, it’ll just reinforce every rumor she’s believed over the years about Rafferty’s bad rep. But when their chemistry explodes both onstage and off, he’ll have to choose between happily-ever-after for himself...or the Cinderella he’s fallen for.

My Thoughts: A fun fluffy "clean" romance with lots of fun characters. I totally enjoyed the interactions of Harper and Rafferty and everybody trying their best to push them together when they were to stubborn to do so themselves. It's just one of those feel good light reads that one needs as a pick me up.

Excerpt:
Stepping inside the castle, he pushed his sunglasses to the top of his head to allow his eyes time to adjust to the darker interior. He stopped a knight dressed for battle.
            “Where can I find Harper?”
The knight slowly raised the visor. “Right here.” Harper raised her arms and, after a few seconds of tugging, pulled the helmet off and tucked it under one arm. Her hair was scraped back into a headband, and her face was devoid of makeup.
If that lip-puckered I-ate-a-lemon look on her face was any indication, she was not thrilled to see him.
“I’m kind of busy. What do you need?”
He was right. Smiling his best aren’t-you-a-sight-for-sore-eyes smile, he said, “Actually, I’m here because of what you need.” He felt a pang of conscience that he wasn’t going
to tell her the real reason he was here, but he squashed it.
Her eyebrows arched. “Name one thing I need.”
He bowed with a flourish. “Me.”
***
Harper knew three things to be completely true. One—Morganville was the best place to live in all of Georgia. Two—she loved her family. Three—she’d never let herself
need Rafferty Bradford ever again. He’d proven that he’d do just what her father had and leave.
“Are you drunk?” she asked, wanting to raise her hands to fix her helmet hair but didn’t because the armor was surprisingly heavy. She’d already smacked herself in the face twice today, and it was a pain in the butt to take the gauntlets off to primp. Especially when the said primping was for the sake of a guy she didn’t even care anything about.
“No, I’m not drunk,” Rafferty said.
That smile of his that Ivy swore could rob a woman of her senses flashed across his lips.
Harper wouldn’t know about losing her mind on account of him, and she had no intention of finding out.
