Book Review - Dead Meat Day 4 by Nick Clausen

Dead Meat: Day 4 (Dead Meat, #4)Dead Meat: Day 4 by Nick Clausen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis:

Day 4 of the zombie apocalypse

The story picks up from Day 3. We meet Dorte, a young doctor, who desperately tries to find a cure for her sister, who got scratches by one of the infected. It’s a race against time, and it’s only the beginning of another day in hell.
By Day 4, the infection begins to spread across nation borders, and it looks like none of the governments will be able to contain it. Is it too late to save the world?

My Thoughts: I know I say "this part" has been my favorite part about every day of this storyline but Holy Smokes they just keep getting better as the tension keeps building and the world keeps being taken over by the zombies!

There were so many jaw dropping head popping moments here I wanted to reach in and smack a few people! So many people could have been spared in this episode had they only used a bit more common sense and helped each other instead of every man for himself. I was so saddened by a few of the victims but not everybody can have a happy ending. That doctor and soldier towards the beginning should have know better!

I have said all along during this actual pandemic we have being facing in real life that I felt as though I had fallen asleep while reading a horror novel and somehow got sucked into the story and can't seem to wake up and a few parts here kinda felt familiar especially folks buying up all the toilet paper. In the story I'm like what they gonna do with all that toilet paper? Mummify the zombies? Well I'm just here to tell ya tha last thing that will be going thru my mind if a zombie gets after me is wiping my behind!

Book Review - The Girl Who Wasn't There by Nick Clausen

The Girl Who Wasn't ThereThe Girl Who Wasn't There by Nick Clausen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis: Monsters are real. And they steal children.

A young girl disappears without a trace.

The police have no clue as to what might have happened.
The severed family is thrown into despair as weeks go by, and still no sign of her.
The girl's older brother begins looking for her on his own.
Soon he becomes convinced that a supernatural being has taken her.
Unfortunately, it turns out he's right ...

The Girl Who Wasn't There is a gripping supernatural thriller.

My Thoughts: I am a huge fan of Nick's Dead Meat Series and found that I also love The Girl Who Wasn't There. Nick is just one of those few writers that it seems everything he writes clicks with me somehow.

Here we have a young boy, Andy, whose been placed in charge of his obnoxious younger sister. He wants to explore the library on the way home and she wants to be a brat and not let him so they agree she will stand outside and he will hurry back out only when he gets inside he searches thru the racks and finds this book that intrigues him and when he gets back out his sister has vanished. He feels like at first she is playing a prank on him but later realizes something else entirely has went down only nobody will pay him any attention!

This story clicks with me because I had one of those obnoxious little sisters and I can totally understand how Andy felt and then later how he let nothing stand in his way til he found her because I know no matter how much of a holy terror my baby sis was I'd fight til my last breathe for her no matter what!

Everything really starts rocking from there and I couldn't put it down! The Girl Who Wasn't There has a bit of everything to satisfy an array of different readers. Whether you're into scary or supernatural stories or not I don't think you'll be disappointed picking this up!

Book Review - Dead Meat Day 3 by Nick Clausen

Dead Meat: Day 3

The end of the world one day at a time
Events pick up from where they left off on Day 2. We meet William who works at the hospital. His workday starts out like any other—until he finds two zombies locked in a utility room in the basement. From there, things quickly escalate.

On Day 3, the infection is picking up speed, the zombies are spreading rapidly, and very soon everything could spiral out of control. Is it too late to save the world?

Day 3 will be out on December 8!

Catch up on Days 1 & 2 Here

My Thoughts: I'm still hanging on to this thrilling series as now even more zombies are coming into play. Things are starting to get real now real fast! I love how the author has thrown together the lives of the characters making them blend together as the world begins  to come under attack before our eyes. I can't really pinpoint any one character I am following or rooting for at this point....seems when I get set on one they get bit and we all know what that means! LOL

Keep the zombies coming Mr Clausen!
