Blurb Blitz Tour/Giveaway - The PSP Chronicles Volume II by Tim Brown

The PSP Chronicles Volume II Keep On, Keeping On by Tim Brown

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 GENRE: Non-Fiction Memoir
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 BLURB: Readers will recall in September of 2013 and at the age of 57, Tim was diagnosed with early onset dementia. He was referred to a neurologist at London Health Sciences Centre – Parkwood, in south-western Ontario. Further physical and cognitive testing aroused the suspicions of the neurologist and Tim was referred to a neuro-ophthalmologist and a movement disorders specialist. In August 2014, just weeks away from Tim’s 58th birthday he was diagnosed with PSP – progressive supranuclear palsy. Frontotemporal dementia was concerning enough, but now he had to live with the fact of a life limiting illness. A disease that would steal him away bit by bit… inside and out. A journey with a certain ending. With a candid narrative he continues to share with readers his physical, mental wellness lamentations and their effects on the family dynamics. But Tim’s journey is more than these. More importantly for him, it is about a journey of unwavering faith in God, no matter the outcome.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: The book will be FREE during the tour.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Excerpt : My lunch is over, and the meds are working their magic, it’s nap time. Luba came upstairs with me to make sure I got there. As she was leaving the room, I began to brush my teeth, but instead of toothpaste I used Voltaren Emulgel™. SHIT!!! I yelled. She ran back into the room. A panicked look on her face, it didn’t take her long to assess the situation. I had to rinse my mouth out several times with real toothpaste. FYI – Voltaren is a topical cream used for sore muscles and joints. It’s not guaranteed to make your teeth white but will help if your gums are sore providing you can stomach the taste.

Book Blitz - Neighbors and Favors by Kate Davis

★★  Neighbors and Favors by Kate Davis is LIVE! ★★

New apartments should come with a trial period…

I’ve just signed a two-year lease on an apartment I can barely afford.

My job hit a brick wall so I need the place to be perfect to help me get my life back on track. But the first night in, and I already know my neighbor isn’t going to make it easy on me.

Tall, sexy, irresistible (and did I mention the British accent?), Shane Logan likes his nightly activities…a lot. I can hear everything through the paper-thin walls. I’m about to tell him that in not-so-friendly terms when I realize he isn’t just sexy, he’s also friendly and eager to be of help.

Maybe having a neighbor like him isn’t such a bad idea.

I’m a writer in desperate need of inspiration. Shane so happens to turn into mine. With a deadline approaching fast, his offer to do me a favor turns into two and three. Before I know it, he’s forced his way into my life with the tenacity of a whirlwind.

I can deal with the fact that he’s far too loud and far too sexy. But when my dog likes him more than me, I start to get a little suspicious. Soon it becomes clear Shane Logan has secrets.

Plunged into the suspicions surrounding my neighbor, suddenly the only thing I can be sure of is that Shane is fiercely determined to hide the truth about himself.

Remember when I said the lease should have come with a warning?

Well, mine should also have come with a big, red, flashing signal.

Author’s note – Neighbors and Favors is a full-length romantic comedy with no cliffhanger.

EXCERPT

“Well, hello, neighbor.”
I stare at the six-foot-three British guy, taking in his lopsided grin and the cleaning gloves and garbage bags in his hands. He’s wearing a white, snug T-shirt and jeans that hang low on his hips—nothing remarkable, really, but for some reason, he looks like he’s stepped straight out of a fragrance advertisement—you know, the expensive kind.
And for some reason, the realization annoys the heck out of me. No one looks so good in the middle of the night. I know I certainly don’t.
“What do you want?” I squeeze through gritted teeth. My good manners have apparently deserted me.
“Ah, now that’s neighborly friendliness if I ever saw some.” His lips stretch into a stunning smile with perfect, white teeth and two little dimples.
I suck in my breath as another wave of annoyance hits me.
Dimples.
Does he have to have a perfect pair of those?
I mean, why toss him a good thing or two from the genes pool when he can win the whole darn lottery?
I bet his personality sucks.
Apparently, Sammy doesn’t think so because she’s instantly stopped her barking and is now making those tiny wailing sounds that signal elation and are usually reserved for her best friends.
Aka me.
“Like I said, what do you want?” I really want to slam the door in the guy’s face but that goes against everything I stand for. So, I take a deep breath and begin my inner chant.
Patience. Forbearance. I treat my neighbor as I want to be treated.
“Anyone ever told you not to open the door to strangers when they come knocking in the middle of the night?” The guy’s grin widens.

Book Blurb/Giveaway - Return of the Fox by Pamela Gibson

Return of the Fox
by Pamela Gibson

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Historical Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

The year is 1847...

… Gabriel de la Vega, disgraced son of a Mexican ranchero, returns to his Alta California home when Americans take power to help his countrymen with the bewildering transition and make amends to the woman he once wronged.

Fiercely independent, Isabella Fuentes swore she’d never forgive Gabriel for abandoning her on the night they were to elope. Now he’s back, playing a dangerous game, pretending to be meek and repentant when she knows the handsome, former outlaw is anything but contrite.

When a series of accidents threaten Isabella’s safety, Gabriel offers an outrageous solution: the protection of a brief civil marriage. Isabella is tempted. But can she rely on a man who once betrayed her and can she trust her foolish heart to let him go when the danger has passed?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPTS (Exclusive Excerpt):
Gabriel stirred beside her, his thigh pressing against hers as he turned to speak to the bride, now seated on the other side of him at the head table. Warmth seeped through fabric, creating a telltale flutter in her stomach, a momentary respite from the clawing worry. Her mind drifted as a distant memory beckoned her . . . a picnic on a bluff overlooking the sea, where she and Gabriel had sat side by side in the warm sun, touching.
Isabella shook herself and gritted her teeth. Why was she remembering their picnic now? It had been so long ago, and had been made meaningless by—but she would not think about that.
Instead, she let her gaze float across the sea of faces, searching for Captain Sutherland. He was at the edge of the room, but his back was to her. Surely he could feel her eyes on him and would turn and smile. Seeing his face would warm her more than Gabriel’s thigh, which was still touching hers, creating little tingles along her leg.
As if he felt the tingles, too, Gabriel turned, and the heat intensified with the expression on his face. He didn’t move away, instead he lifted his fork and grinned at her before taking a bite.
“You’re not eating, my dear. Is the food not to your liking?”
“I’m not very hungry.”
“It’s been hours since breakfast. And there will only be a light supper around midnight tonight. Unless you’re hoarding food in your room, you should eat. What if you faint? I’ll have to carry you to your room, perhaps fling you over my shoulder like a sack of flour, my hand resting on your delectable bottom.”
She could imagine his hand pressing her bottom, perhaps kneading it after they found a secluded spot.
She squirmed in her seat. “You know, Gabriel, your manners are atrocious,” she hissed. “How dare you speak to me in such an intimate way?”
He leaned closer. “Afraid someone might overhear? Or do you not want them to see the delightful blush on your cheeks and wonder what caused it?”
“You are insufferable.”
He moved back and placed his hand over his heart. “To think you were complimenting me just a few minutes ago.”
“I should have known better.”
His grin lit up his face, showing perfect teeth and dancing eyes. She didn’t know whether she wanted to smack him or kiss him. Both urges were strong. Neither was acceptable in company.
The sheer amount of decisions in life can become an overwhelming burden. Sometimes we just want to know the answers to our questions. We want to know we are making the right choices. It can be hard to see the right path with the noise of the world. There are voices and media all around us, influencing everything we do. In all that noise, where is the true voice, the one that knows? You can call it God or Source or the Universe or your Higher Self, but it is contained within you. Accessing it and giving it room and silence to speak to you is the real key to achieving your best life.
In seven steps, Nicole Stephen shows the way to a happier, more peaceful daily life. To reclaim yourself, you need to shut out the "shoulds," but in order to do that, you need to notice them. Exploring the questions and challenges that Nicole includes in this book will open your eyes to the pressures that you may have been submitting to unknowingly. In clearing up the way you see the world, you can clear a path to knowing yourself, and with that true voice guiding you, you will always find the way.
Book three in the TETRAD Group series
Alysia has spent the last ten years avoiding relationships, but the night her life implodes, she meets Nick. Now all bets are off.
Haunted by her past, Alysia’s desperate for answers. She needs Nick and the group sworn to aid those unable to go to the law for help, because TETRAD will do what law enforcement cannot or will not—believe her when she says she knows who’s after her.
My name is Nick Wheeler and I’m with TETRAD, where I use my unusual skillset to best advantage. But what I didn’t expect is to become involved with a trauma nurse, or for it to become so deadly, with the stakes rising hour by hour.
I’m Alysia Rossini. One look at Nick Wheeler and I know he’s the one to help me forget the past. But is it fair to expose him to such danger? And will I live long enough for the chance to be with him?
Read an Excerpt
Creak.
What was that?
Alysia stopped in mid-twist, hand poised above the toilet tank handle, ready to flush. There. Another faint footpad. Someone was in the house, advancing down the hallway, step by cautious step. Not a nightmare, but real this time. Her mouth dry, her throat tightening, she tried to move. Why, oh why didn’t I kill him when I had the chance? Why did I resume CPR and save his evil ass? Because I swore to help others. It’s why I went into nursing in the first place. And I didn’t want to become like him. The idealistic thought hadn’t comforted her then and provided even less comfort now, because she had a terrible fear that if she had to do it all again, she might not come out the same person.
She couldn’t unfreeze her body—every cell, every muscle, every fiber of her being was paralyzed by fear. The memory of another time slithered in between one heartbeat and the next, squeezing the life out of her like the pythons that she’d feared most when visiting the reptile house as a child. It pulled her under, took over. Filled her conscious mind with excruciating torment while her body remained frozen in place, bricked and mortared by the powerful image. There. A closer squeak of protest from the old wooden floorboards. A whiff of odor she couldn’t identify. Move, damn it!
She broke free of the terror in a rush of self-preservation driven by a single gossamer strand of willpower. She picked up her cell phone sitting on the edge of the sink and lunged for the window, thrust up the lower pane with hands trembling to the point of not seeming under her control, and pushed one foot over the ledge to climb through the small space. Her heel caught on a sharp nail head protruding through the wood frame. She swallowed the hurt. Pulling her other foot up and over the sill, she jumped.
Dizzy from waves of night terrors flooding in with a vengeance, she padded across the icy asphalt shingles on bare feet. She forced herself to think, to remain in the moment. It would be too easy to succumb to her worst fear, to allow the past to sweep away all she had worked so hard to build. To just lie down and die, have it over with. The pain. The guilt. The sleepless nights.
Then the image of her father filled her brain, encouraging her to keep moving. Don’t let evil win, sweetheart. Suddenly he was right there with her, beckoning her forward in the night, an in corporeal image hovering between life and death. Between this world and the next, comforting and bittersweet, because in her heart she knew it wasn’t real. Instead he was lying in his grave by her mother’s side hundreds of miles away.
Fortified by the vision, she halted at the edge of the roof and looked downward. It was at least twenty feet to the blurry ground below. Why didn’t I put on my glasses? Or bring the Beretta from the nightstand? For the same reason she hadn’t switched on the bathroom light—it was the middle of the night and there was no need. And bright lights bothered her over-sensitive eyes. She’d only brought her phone in case of an emergency at work or with Kate. No hope for it now. She had to go over the edge. Maybe the two feet of heavy snow would break her fall? Or not. Better a broken limb than what waited inside.
There would be no quick end to her life—she knew that with dead certainty. The realization made her push down the panic threatening to grab her by the throat and paralyze her yet again. Why hadn’t she ended it all on the highway all those months ago? She shook her head. Too late for regrets. She knew it was him, back to finish the job. The last witness.
She eased her body down past the eaves and dangled in mid-air, her phone held precariously between her teeth. When her arms could no longer support her, her muscles trembling with the strain, she let go. She plunged into a snowbank, her skin shocked and freezing from the icy snow crystals enveloping her. So strong was the wind that it pressed the flimsy fabric of her nightdress tight against her bare skin and whipped long auburn strands of hair into her face.
Jared Stone is a freaking wolf. And I
don’t mean that metaphorically, either…
I thought I had it bad—living in my dead Dad’s old hunting blind in the woods, barely staying alive on apples and ramen…that was before the storm hit and destroyed the only form of shelter I had left.
Enter, Jared. The hottest—and most unavailable—guy at school. Except he wasn’t Jared when he pulled me out of the mud. He wasn’t even human.
As if that wasn’t unsettling enough, when he brought me back to his cabin, I found he wasn’t alone. Another guy, one I’d only ever heard about in whispers beneath the bleachers, was there too. Clayton Armstrong: bad boy extraordinaire. And it turned out, he wasn’t human either.
Mindf*ck, right?
At first, all I want to do is run away. But I have nowhere to go, and for whatever messed up reason, Jared is insistent that I stay. Despite Clay’s loud protests.
So, now I’m stuck in a cabin in the woods with two hot as hell wolf
shifters. One who wants to protect me. And another who wants to eat me for
lunch…
What could go wrong?
