Two word description: Dark and Mysterious

Araby and her friend April live with their families in the high end section of the city where it's thought the plagues can't reach but for Araby that has not always been the case. She, unlike April, knows what it's like to be poor and struggling so when she meets Will who works at the club she and April frequent and discovers he has two younger siblings he is trying to raise on his own in a really bad part of town her heart aches for him.

Araby denies herself to feel love because of the guilt she has over the death of her brother but she has a heart of gold and wants to help others so badly even when it puts herself and her family at risk. Though I love her character she is quite annoying as well for taking some of the risks she took on just a whim. There is alot of betrayal and mystery going on in the story which kept me interested to a certain point but it just didn't turn out to be the story I was hoping it was gonna be. Don't get me wrong..I really enjoyed reading it but think it was just one of those books that I got soooo hyped up over and it just turned into a meh read for me.
