My Thoughts: Sara Ohlin is a new author for me and I really really enjoyed so much this story "Salvaging Love".  The characters were just so real like I could reach in and touch them or like persons I may would actually run into in real life. I know that probably sounds crazy but the word I'm looking for just ain't coming to me right now.

Outside of the actual story plot, which was awesome by the way, other pluses for me were a story with animals in it and the fact that the main characters didn't immediately fall head over heels with each other.

I can't wait to see where this series goes next!

“Jackson?”

“I want to be the only one who gets that soft, intimate ‘Hey’ from you.”

What? “I’m confused,” she said quietly.

“I’m not,” he said. “I like the way you look, your gorgeous skin, that cute break in your nose, although I doubt I’d like the way you broke it.”

No, he absolutely would not, she thought, sucking in a breath.

“I like the way you talk to your dogs, the way when you say ‘Hi’ to people you make every single one of them feel special. I fucking love the way your hazel eyes get darker when you’re fighting with me, the confusion in your face when I catch you off guard. You’ve got a fucking fantastic body, and that’s only from seeing you in your scrubs and your sexy yoga pants and I bet I’d like what’s hidden underneath. I like the way your soft voice hits me, the way you smile at everything, except when you’re pissed, which I might like even more. I don’t want the month to learn why a bunch of buildings are worth saving, I want to spend the month getting to know you. Still confused?”

Stunned was more like it. He liked her in her yoga pants? Her nose that was so far from model perfect she could not even go there?

“Ellie? Are you still confused?”

“No?” she squeaked out, but it was definitely a question, because, hell yes, she was still confused. Was he high? Or blind? Maybe both?

He laughed. “We’ll get there. How was the rest of your day?”

 My Thoughts:  Just look at that beautiful cover! This was a very fast read for me because I totally fell in love with the characters, the town, and just the whole story. It was one of the sweetest holiday reads. I admired Holly so much for her strength and taking her niece to raise on her own and then finding Cash and letting him know about his daughter.  That took alot of courage!

I fell in love with Cash immediately because even though he truly doubted Penny was his kid he wasn't mean about it and when he found out for sure he was indeed her father he tried to do his part for her and even more. There just isn't enough Cash O'Dwyer's in this world!

As clues emerge, pointing more definitively at the members of the Murder Club, Nora begins digging for her own clues, bringing fantasy to reality. Could Liv and Nina be involved, and if so, why?
They were all curious. Was one of them too curious?

My Thoughts: OMG This was so good! I've only just started listening to audio books and usually find them hard to get into but had no problems with this one. The narrator, Jennifer O'Donnel did a fantastic job with the different characters and really knocked that ending out of the park!

The actual story itself was also very interesting and unlike most mystery who dunnit's I had a very hard time figuring out the culprit here which made me enjoy it so much more. I really get bored fast if I can straightaway guess who did it.

I was totally engrossed with Nora's character. I felt like she had multiple lives so to speak because it seemed she had to be and behave a certain way at home with her family, then she had to be the "brainiac" at her school for the debate team group, and alas another way with her Murder Club friends. Kinda like folks who don't like for their food to touch on their plates she didn't want her "three worlds" to overlap or come together but then she did have good reason for feeling this way with somebody trying to frame her for murder.

If you love a good mystery grab this one up and sit back and enjoy the ride!

My Thoughts:  The Giving Heart takes you over from the first page with Lila Sloan flying across the snow in bedroom slippers to thrust her body in front of a bulldozer! And it never lets up. Loads of excitement and a full on enemies to lovers type romance builds between her and that adorable (swoon) Beck Grainger! Things got heated up in more ways than one very quickly on Summer Island!  Loved It! Another PERFECT holiday read!

The door shut and I turned around to face Russ.



“The pizza is on the table.” He stopped. “What’s wrong?” He didn’t wait for an answer. Instead he came over and put his hands on my shoulder. “You can’t do this nonstop. It’s taking a toll. Maybe I could take you out—there’s a show you’d love...”



“Russ,” I said cutting him off. I would’ve liked nothing better, but that wasn’t going to happen. “I’d love to, but I can’t. I have to be here for Mom.”



He frowned.



“You’re not alone, Cassie. I’ll be there for you every step of the way if you’ll let me.”



“Russ, I can’t ...”



He hauled me against his chest and kissed me. His lips were soft and then hard, hot with passion. Feeling his strength, his heart beat against mine, my breasts rocking against his chest and it was all too much. I wanted him. And nowhere in my life was there room to have him.


When he let me go I just stood there—shell-shocked, my heart pounding in a good way.



“And not just as friends,” he finished. “I want you in my life, Cass.”



“You can’t think of me like that, Russ.” I shook my head. “Like what?”



“In a romantic situation. It’s never going to happen.” And as final as that statement was I knew by the look on Russ’s face and how I felt when I looked at him, that neither of us believed it.
